First year students can pick their card up approximately 10 days after the enrolment to the winter semester, not earlier than one week before the beginning of the academic year in September, or throughout the beginning of the winter semester. ID cards are collectively distributed in “Zbrojnice” (former Armoury building), in hall on the third floor in order to avoid longer waiting period during the signing of the Contract to borrow ID card.
Cards for the first-year students are printed after the card deposit is paid, identification card application form is sent and after the students were enrolled to the academic year.
WHERE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT – where to put credit to the ID card for canteen and xerox services
New students must go to the cash office of canteen at tř. 17. listopadu 54 and create an account. Students can put money to the ID card at the canteen cash office, servery in Holice or in Neředín canteen buffet. Online encashment can be set up for the canteen – more at http://menza.upol.cz/WebKredit
Library – xerox services
You can put credits for xerox services in 1st floor of Zbrojnice in Central Library (desk A), at computer labs administrator (ground floor of Zbrojnice, FoS) or at information centres of CMFoT, FoPC, FoA.
Collecting remaining credits after the end of the studies
If students end their studies and they want to collect the remaining ID card credit, they should do so as soon as possible, before the card validity ends (especially xerox credit). Students can collect the remaining credits in cash at the computer lab administrator at Zbrojnice or at Central Library (1st floor, desk B).
Canteen credits can be collected even after the end of studies and after students return the ID card at the ID card office. Credits are returned in cash at the cash office at main canteen at tř. 17. Listopadu 54, after students show their ID card or passport to the office administrator. There is a possibility of sending the money to students bank account upon an arrangement with the cash office administrator.
Computer centre and ID card office does not have access to the remaining amount of credits on your ID card account.
Deposit payback for the student card (student card)
Students should return the card as stated in the Contract to borrow an identification card, i.e. 30 days at the latest after you finish your studies. Students will lose their deposit, if they do not do so. Students should return the card to the ID card Office. The card should be within standards of regular wear. Deposit is returned in cash.
Identificatin card can be returned to the ID card office by postal service only in exceptional and justified cases. Deposit is then returned to the bank account of the user. Whether the return via post is justified or not is judged by a Computer Centre employee.
Validation and stamp distribution
Renewal of validity of the international ISIC card by purchase of the revalidation stamp
The preferred way of payment for the revalidation stamp is via online payment gate at Portal of Palacký University in My studies – My payments section using „Pay Online“ button. Students do not have to bring any proof of payment when collecting their revalidation stamp. Payment is traceable by a Computer Centre employee within 5 minutes after the payment. Therefore, student can pick up the revalidation stamp almost immediately at the distribution spot or at ID card office.
Students can pay the fee for revalidation stamp using by bank transfer or by postal order. However, payment by these two methods requires you to enter the correct variable symbol (it can be found in the “my payments” section) after you are enrolled to the next year of study. When the status of payment is not “paid” even if you have paid for the stamp, bring a proof of payment (statement of account, payment slip) with you when you come to collect your validation stamp. The payment was not probably paired with your account.
Revalidation stamp is used for inclusion into the national database of valid ISIC cards and for verification of ISIC card validity for discount providers.
Revalidation stamp can be purchased after the enrolment to the next year of studies.
Revalidation stamps are distributed at predetermined locations after the distribution of ID cards to first year students. Distribution takes place within a limited period (three weeks in October, one week in January) at a predetermined place (not at the ID card office). Information regarding stamp distribution will be published at Portal. Students who will be at a foreign study stay before the beginning of academic year can pick up their validation stamp at the beginning of August at the ID card office. However, these students will not have a variable symbol generated yet. Therefore, they must pay for the revalidation stamp in cash at the ID card office. It is important that these students bring their finance agreement or subscription contract (issued by the Foreign affairs department of Palacký University) with them.

What will happen once I change a card? (new ID card issue, lost ID card, etc.)
- Your old card will be blocked once a new card is printed. New card will be activated on the following day. Remaining credits for canteen or xerox services will be transferred to your new card as well as list of books lent from library. Your passwords and building entrance rights are transferred as well.
Students who have not paid for a revalidation stamp, but want to get a new valid ISIC card must pay for the revalidation on-line before coming to the ID cards office, or they can pay in cash there.
Your money will be transferred as well as your password. If you have ordered a meal on the same day as your card is printed you must pick up a meal ticket at a cashier’s desk in the main canteen. Next day’s order will be transferred to your new card. New orders using your new card are available before noon the day after printing of the card.
FoM or FoHS students who eat at the University Hospital canteen must report change of their card in UH office next to the canteen. New chip number will be then uploaded into their systems. You do not have to pick up a meal ticket, meals ordered on the day of card’s print are available.
Book loans are transferred. However, you will receive a new user ID number for university libraries (e.g. C000012345). User ID number is used by students who order books they want to lend on-line. You will receive your new number from the library employees at desk B or at ID card office when receiving the card. You must inform the employees of Olomouc Research Library about change of your ID card and let them update your new card number into their system.
- Xerox services
Your credit and login will be transferred. If you experience issues with the credit transfer, go to computer network administrator in the ground floor in Zbrojnice (next to the computer room) or to desk B in the library. This service is available also at library at Theoretical institutes.
Foreign students who had their pseudo-birth code changed in STAG and who received a new printed card will have the same password as with their old card.
Your new ISIC card will have a new licence number in case of loss/theft (under photography). If a student has bought a monthly/quarterly season ticket, he/she must inform DPMO employees about the licence number change in order to have it correct for possible revision control ticketing in public transport.
Do I have to apply for a new ISIC even though I have a valid one from a different school?
Students enrolling to Palacký University Olomouc cannot use ISIC cards issued outside Palacký University as UP Olomouc card contains a chip, which is the holder of information enabling access to all Palacký University systems – canteen, buffet, accommodation at dormitories, book loans at libraries of Palacký University, access to buildings, etc. Validity of ISIC distributed at UP can be prolonged throughout the whole study period by a purchase of a revalidation stamp.
Therefore, ISIC distributed by another institution would not work at electronic services at UP. You can own more international ID cards.
Do I have to send a request for a new card if I have one from my previous studies at Palacký University?
Students who enter the first year studies again within one or more faculties at PU do not have to send a request for a new card if they do not change a form of study (full-time to distance and vice versa). Students transferring from FoM or FoHS to another faculty or vice versa must request a new ISIC card as their card serves as an ID tag for the University Hospital.
Every student can find his or her variable symbol to pay the revalidation stamp since August. The symbol contains field of study code from STAG. The payment is not compulsory. You can pick up your revalidation stamp according to the instructions at Portal.
If students of a follow-up studies want a new card (i.e. card is damaged, card is lost), they must pay online deposit for the card in the online application form (or validation license according to a selected type of card) and send the identification card application form to the Computer Centre (address is on the application form). If students do not request a new photo, they should write ‘USE FORMER PHOTO’ on the form.
Do I have to change a type of card if I will be a first-year student of the follow up studies?
Students who have finished their bachelor studies and who will continue with their studies at master’s level do not have to pay the deposit of 200 CZK for a new ID card. If students change the form of studies from full-time to combined, they must apply for a new identification card and they must pay the deposit (pay online button in online application form). They will receive a standard blue ID card. As for ISIC card, the validation stamp must be purchased (see validation and stamp distribution).
I did not enter the variable symbol while paying the deposit. What should I do?
If you have not paid on-line and you forgot to enter the variable symbol or you have lost the proof of payment, your card will not be ready for distribution. You must fill out the information needed by e-mail or you must come to ID card office in person in order to search for your payment (in case of lost proof of payment). Bring the number of bank account from which you sent the payment along with a date of payment. In case you lost the payment slip, find the specific number of your post office, from where you sent your payment along with at least an approximate date of payment.
I changed my surname when I send application to the first year of study. What should I do?
You just fill-in the new surname to the application for a ID card or you can inform us via e-mail. We will print the card when the study officer fixes the surname in STAG so you do not have to pay for issuing of a second card afterwards. This way you must pay only the deposit.
I will enrol to studies today, when can I get my student card?
Students are not registered in our system on the day they enrol to studies. Their card will be ready for the print in three days after the enrolment, as their personal information must pass multiple system checks. Cards are printed in the same time as the Contact to borrow ID card. Only then they can pick up the card.
If the enrolment is later than in standard period and students can arrive to pick up the card later. However, be aware that the card is not active on the day of the print. It is activated the next day.
I am a foreign student of the follow-up studies and I have a newly generated pseudo-birth code in the Online Application Form. Do I have to get a new ISIC card?
Foreign students must keep their original pseudo-birth code from their previous studies. If you have generated yourself a new pseudo-birth code, go to Helpdesk in Portal or contact us via e-mail in order to get the pseudo-birth code fixed to the original one. Then there is no need for getting a new ISIC, you just need to get a revalidation stamp. If you have a room reserved at dormitories with the new pseudo-birth code, you must inform the Accommodation and dining department regarding the change of the birth code.
How can I pay the deposit for the ID card as a foreign student (e.g. Erasmus, Ceepus, agreements, etc.)?
If the length of studies is longer than one month and the students does not own an ISIC card from their home university and they would like to own Palacký University card, students can pay the deposit 200 CZK and 250 CZK license fee. Students shall pay these fees at the main cash office of Palacký University (left side of the courtyard of th Rectorate building, Křížkovského 8), total price is therefore 450 CZK. Students should then bring your Application form of identification card, photography and proof of payment to ID card offices (Zbrojnice building, Biskupské náměstí 1, 2nd floor – ISIC signs), or to you study officer or foreign study stay coordinator. If the student is going to pay via postal order or via bank transfer, then the student must use the variable symbol 99968061 and specific symbol is birthcode (for students from Slovakia) or date of birth.
I lost my ID card / My card was stolen, what should I do?
You must inform Computer center in person or by e-mail. You card will be blocked within 24 hours. Then you must go to the main cashier’s office at Rectorate building in order to pay for the new card. Bring the proof of payment to Computer Center to ID card office (Biskupské náměstí 1, Zbrojnice, 2nd floor – ISIC signs). You card will be made on the spot and it will be active the next day.
Further, the end of validity of the new card is printed on the front of the card. If you are not prolonging your ISIC by a validation stamp and you are a full-time student, you can ask for a standard UP card. However, you will lose the ISIC card advantages.
If you study full-time and you do not prolong your ISIC card validity, you can get a standard UP card, which however does not offer any of advantages of the ISIC card (discounts etc.).
My card is not working (in canteen, library, room access), what should I do?
If your card is damaged then you have to pay a new deposit fee for a new card at the main cash office of Palacký University (left side of the courtyard of the Rectorate building, Křížkovského 8). You will receive a payment receipt which you should bring with you to ID card office at Zbrojnice (Biskupské náměstí 1, 2nd floor, room 3.87). You will then receive a new card. The card will be activated the next day.
If you own ISIC card with a valid license, then the license will be transferred to the new card without any extra payment.
If your card is not visibly damaged, go to the ID card office first, where the state of the card will be considered. If the card lost its functionality, you will get a new card printed free of charge.
Do I have to return my card if I interrupt my studies and what will happen after I return to studies?
If the students keep their ID card during their interruption of studies then the card is electronically reactivated upon their return to studies.
Do I have to return the card after I finish my studies?
You should return the card as stated in the Contract to borrow an identification card, i.e. 30 days at the latest after you finish your studies. You will lose your deposit, if you do not do so. You should return the card to the ID card Office. You can use the ISIC until the end of the calendar year outside Palacký University, if you do not return the card.
You can authorize any person acting on your behalf (using the appropriate form) to return the card and receiving the deposit back, if you cannot return the card in person.
Also, you can return the card by sending it back through the post package with a written request regarding sending the deposit back to your bank account. However, this is not a standard procedure and it is accepted only if a student is abroad or he/she ended his/her studies for health reasons. The reason for sending back the deposit to your account must be part of your request.
I paid for my revalidation stamp on-line today. When can I pick it up?
You can pick up the stamp five minutes after the payment, if you paid the revalidation online through Portal. Your payment will be paired with your Portal account in a few days, so do not worry if you have already paid the stamp and the status is “UNPAID”. Once the payment is paired, you will the payment as “PAID”.
